Lanarkshire Carers Centre is the key resource for carers in Lanarkshire delivering a diverse range of information, advice and direct carer support services.  Lanarkshire Carers Centre has a centre in Hamilton and a second base in Airdrie. Services are delivered in outreach locations throughout Lanarkshire. Carer Support Workers also operate from locality social work teams.

These posts are part of Lanarkshire Carers Centre’s funding agreements with North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships currently in place initially until March 2019. We have both a full-time (35 hours per week) and part-time positions available. Based between Hamilton Centre, Airdrie base and localities. The post holder will work on an outreach basis in venues across Lanarkshire, flexibility is required as candidates may be required to work evenings and weekends. Lanarkshire Carers Centre Salary Points 23 to 29 (£21,428 rising to circa £26,003 pro rata).

It is Lanarkshire Carers Centre policy that all applicants will start at the first incremental point of this scale. Workplace Pension Scheme available.

The post holder will be responsible to a member of the management team within the organisation and will work closely with staff, volunteers, carers and partner organisations to develop, plan and deliver comprehensive information, advice and support services for carers in Lanarkshire. We seek to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person with an awareness of the impact of the caring role within the family and the issues faced by unpaid carers. A good knowledge of health and social care is advantageous and experience of working across statutory and voluntary sectors.

Volunteering Opportunities

Lanarkshire Carers Centre are currently recruiting a polish speaking volunteer to assist with our Care Talk service. 

This service is run by our volunteers to provide isolated carers with a regular friendly telephone call to keep them updated with services available to them. We are looking for someone who is fluent in Polish & English and who is also able to update & record information on our computer system. PVG disclosure checks will be required, there will be no cost to the individual for this.
